Problem Solver Sessions

Problem solver sessions are single 60 minute sessions in your home where we’ll show you how to stop behaviors such as barking, jumping, pulling on leash, counter surfing, crate barking / whining, poop eating, digging, and more.

Price and Duration

$60, one hour

Will my dog need multiple sessions?

For many behaviors, one session is all you really need. However, there are some behaviors or situations that may require a few sessions. Sometimes people also like to schedule additional sessions for additional practice.

How do we stop these behaviors?

In order to stop your dog from displaying a behavior, we need to add a consequence that your dog finds uncomfortable. We share consequences neutrally, matter-of-factly, and in a manner your dog will understand. Different dogs respond to different sensations differently, so we’ll try a few things to find out what works best for your dog. We’ll come to the session with a prong collar, e-collar, and bonker (rolled up towel) for us to try. If you like how they work for your dog, we’ll share the supplier links where you can purchase them for yourself.

Why don’t you use treats or redirection to stop these behaviors?

Simply, they won’t work. We use treats to train behaviors, but not to stop them. If your dog barks out the window and you call him back and give him a treat, you might stop their behavior for one second, but you’ve just trained him that barking out the window = getting treats. We’re going to show you what works so you don’t waste your money and you see actual results.

Obedience Bootcamp

Our Obedience Bootcamp is designed to give you and your dog a serious head start in basic training and obedience. This program is great for teaching and reinforcing behaviors like sit, down, stay, go to bed (place), come, and loose leash walking.

Obedience Bootcamp includes:

  • Five (5) Private Training Sessions, Monday - Friday, with your dog and our lead trainer

  • One (1) Owner Coaching Session, where we teach you how to continue your dog’s progress

Price

$399

What kinds of tools do you use?

All of the dogs in our program are trained on prong collars (exclusive of puppies < 5 months, who we train on slip leads). We’ll provide you with the links to purchase these tools separately. During the Owner Coaching Session, we’ll show you how to use the tools safely and effectively.

How does it work?

You’ll drop your dog off for one evening session each weekday for the duration of your program (1.5 hours sessions, Monday-Friday). Dogs are more focused on training and able to make more progress without the owners present initially, so while your dog is in training, there are plenty of coffee, dinner, and drink spots within walking distance for you to check out. Then, the following week, we’ll have a one-hour Owner Coaching Session where you’ll learn how to apply the training yourself and continue the progress we’ve made.
